My name is Mrs. Williamson and I am the pre-k – 2nd grade School Counselor. I am very excited about working with your children and helping them grow their mindset. I received my Bachelors degree in Human Services Counseling from Old Dominion University and my Masters in Professional School Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University. I currently reside in Hanover County where I spend free time with my husband and my four active children. As a school counselor, I will assist in minimizing barriers that may impede a student’s ability to learn. My role in promoting academic success is to assist students, parents, and teachers in identifying and responding to the personal and developmental needs of students. For example, I am here to help assist students with making good choices, anxiety, loss and grief, behavior management, self esteem, study skills, and organization. The list is truly endless. I will visit your child’s classroom and present guidance lessons based on monthly character traits provided by Caroline County. In addition, I will also offer individual and group counseling when necessary. I look forward to working together with you and your student and making this year at Lewis & Clark a successful one. If you have a particular concern about your child, I welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss the matter.
